The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the Coronavirus outbreak a global pandemic.
According to the WHO, there are over 45 million confirmed cases of coronavirus globally, and over 1.1 million people have sadly died.
Across the globe in Africa, Asia, Europe and further afield, communities are at high risk of contracting COVID-19.
As with any crisis, those who are already vulnerable are certainly at higher risk.
In the midst of conflict in Syria, refugee families were already lacking shelter, food and medical equipment – because of the outbreak of Coronavirus, their struggles are increasing.
In Syria, right now we’re supporting 70 health facilities including hospitals and health centres with medical items and training in order to help around 200,000 people in the north-west of the country.
Getting critical access to food and hygiene is incredibly challenging at this time. Especially for vulnerable communities – including displaced families in Myanmar, people in Yemen and for those recovering from the effects of natural disaster across Africa and Asia.
Above all, we are committed to supporting vulnerable communities here in the UK and across the globe.
Our response to the Coronavirus outbreak includes:
Across Asia and in areas such as Syria, Gaza and Ethiopia, vulnerable people are at risk, therefore we need your support.
People who have suffered so much need your help now more than ever to face Covid-19.
