The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the Coronavirus outbreak a global pandemic.

Coronavirus Appeal: Those who are already vulnerable are at higher risk

According to the WHO, as of 15 July 2020, there are over 13 million confirmed cases of coronavirus globally, and over 570,000 people have sadly died.

Across the globe in Africa, Asia, Europe and further afield, communities are at high risk of contracting COVID-19.

As with any crisis, those who are already vulnerable are certainly at higher risk.

In the midst of conflict in Syria, refugee families were already lacking shelter, food and medical equipment – because of the outbreak of Coronavirus, their struggles are increasing.

Getting critical access to food and hygiene is incredibly challenging at this time. Especially for vulnerable communities – including displaced families in Myanmar, people in Yemen and for those recovering from the effects of natural disaster across Africa and Asia.

Support those in need

Above all, we are committed to supporting vulnerable communities here in the UK and across the globe.

Our response to the Coronavirus outbreak includes:

  • Food assistance and grants for orphaned children
  • Hygiene kits inc. hand gloves, masks, toilet rolls, disinfectants and hand sanitisers
  • Awareness-raising leaflets on how to keep safe

Across Asia and in areas such as Syria, Gaza and Ethiopia, vulnerable people are at risk, therefore we need your support.
